Peninsula Packaging's manufacturing processes have been designed and built with protection of the environment in mind.

Peninsula's products are made with up to 100% recycled drink bottles but generally between 50% and 70%.

Over the past three years, Peninsula's use of recycled drink bottles and solar energy has resulted in...

...2.9 billion drink bottles recycled
...enough electricity saved to power 20,600 homes
...over 84,000 tons of green house gas (carbon
dioxide) was NOT emitted in the atmosphere
...equivalent to taking 14,800 cars off the road

Peninsula Packaging is the largest consumer of recycled drink bottles used for packaging in the United States.

Peninsula owns and operates the largest privately funded photovoltaic (solar) "farm" in North America. 3,888 solar panels located adjacent to Peninsula's Exeter, CA facility generate 1.1 megawatt of power per day providing enough electricity to power about half of the energy needed to produce Peninsula's varied food packaging products.

Peninsula's facilities utilize state-of-the-art systems to further conserve natural resources and protect the environment...including:

Closed-loop water re-circulation systems. No
water is discharged from Peninsula's facilities
into storm drains nor sanitary sewers.

Sophisticated air filtration systems are utilized
to insure that no pollutants of any kind are
released into the atmosphere.

Sky-lights are used in the roofs of Peninsula's
manufacturing plants and warehouses for
lighting.

Motion sensors and photocells are used through-
out Peninsula's facilities so that area lights are
only "on" when necessary.

High efficiency electric motors are used throughout
Peninsula's facilities to reduce power demand.

Products manufacturered by Peninsula are generally regarded as "recyclable." However, consumers should check with local recyclers and curbside waste haulers to insure that non-bottle PET packaging products are accepted to be recycled.

Peninsula's products are routinely tested by a third party laboratory to verify the post-consumer recycled drink bottle content as well as testing to insure that the use of recycled plastic materials conforms with FDA standards for direct food contact.
